AVON-BY-THE-SEA — The Avon-By-The-Sea Board of Education approved its 2024/2025 school year budget during its monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 24, seeing a 2% tax levy increase from last year.
Business Administrator Amy Lerner led the budget funding breakdown during its presentation and public hearing at 7 p.m. at Avon Elementary School.
The budget currently supports 120 students, but also services 125 students in total, which can include out-of-district placements, high school tuition and transportation that is required by law.
The total general appropriations for this year are $5,302,188, with a total operating budget of $5,300,188. The tax levy is $4,116,499, a 2% increase from the previous year’s $4,035,783.
The average assessment home in Avon is approximately $900,000, with the average household seeing a $74 a year increase in their school tax bill from the previous year.
