MANTOLOKING — The Mantoloking Council adopted a $7 million 2024 municipal budget at the April 16 council meeting.
The budget totals $7,024,281 with $825,000 coming from surplus, $1,344,262 from miscellaneous revenues, $46,000 from delinquent taxes and $4,809,018 to be raised from local tax for municipal purposes.
Council President Anthony Amarante, who chairs the finance committee, said, “The amount to be raised by local taxes is $4,809,018, an increase of $203,670 from 2023.”
“The resulting proposed local tax rate for 2024 is 30.8 cents per $100 of assessed property value, an increase of one cent from last year,” he said.
According to the council president, the significant year-to-year increases includes 7% for salaries and wages, 7% for insurance and 35.8% for estimated sewer fees paid to the Ocean County Utilities Authority.
