It’s true that there’s an Irish pub in many areas of this world, as the old Irish pub song notes. But there are not many places in the world, save for the Emerald Isle herself, that you’ll find pub tradition as strong and true as right here at the Jersey Shore. At this time of year, a sea of green washes over every one of these traditional venues, but the vibrant color is just the beginning. Tasty Irish favorites, the sound of bagpipes, good cheer and of course your favorite Irish drink of choice all are here to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and really, the whole month of March.
Whether the roots of Ireland run through your veins or not, everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and it is the perfect time to paint the town green.
BRICK HOUSE TAVERN
The Brick House Tavern located at 3655 Route 66 in Neptune Township will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by featuring $4 Jameson hitches to add to any beer.
The tavern will also be serving the St. Patrick’s Day Reuben that consists of rye bread, corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing.
D’ARCY’S TAVERN
D’arcy’s Tavern, located at 310 Main Street in Bradley Beach, is the “Shore’s Home to Soccer,” but it’s also home to St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Plenty of Guinness will be poured throughout the day and authentic and delicious Irish fare will be served.
RIVER ROCK
River Rock, located at 1600 Route 70 in Brick will be holding a St. Patrick’s Day Party with pipes and drums throughout the day. Music will be by Trane O’Stevens Duo at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
River Rock will also have delicious Irish food and drink specials throughout the day.
They will be having $6 Forged Stouts throughout the month as well as $6 Slane Irish Coffee.
MJ’s RESTAURANT BAR & GRILL
MJ’s Restaurant Bar & Grill locations at Tinton Falls, Matawan, Middletown, Spotswood, Neptune and Long Branch will feature Irish-themed chef and drink specials throughout the day.
On the Irish-themed food side, the day will feature corned beef sliders, reuben-style potato skins, Irish quesadillas, corned beef & cabbage, St. Paddy’s Reuben sandwiches and more.
On the Irish-themed drinks, MJ’s will feature $6 Jameson Irish Whiskey shots and $6 forged pints of Conor McGregor’s Irish Stout.
KELLY’S TAVERN
Kelly’s Tavern located at 43 Route 35 will have bagpipers from 7 to 9 a.m., 12 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day.
The tavern will also have a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration menu with soups, appetizers, entrees and desserts.
Irish specials include Kelly’s favorites a Reuben and mini Reuben with corned beef, sauerkraut and Russian dressing over rye and topped with melted Swiss cheese; a corned beef platter of sliced corned beef, boiled potatoes and cabbage and served with rye bread and butter; a hot corned beef or pastrami sandwich, which includes thinly sliced corned beef or pastrami on rye and served with fries.
ASBURY ALE HOUSE
The Asbury Ale House located at 531 Cookman Ave., Asbury Park will feature music by DJ Encore for a St. Patrick’s Day brunch.
The games, giveaways and the calling confetti will also be featured during the celebration. Reservations are required.
MCDONAGH’S PUB AND RESTAURANT
McDonagh’s Pub and Restaurant located at 2 W Front., Keyport, will feature an all-day Irish celebration starting at 10 a.m.
The festivities will include bagpipers all day, accompanied with Irish foods, such as corned beef and cabbage sandwiches.
SPRING LAKE TAP HOUSE
Spring Lake Tap House, located on Route 71, will be hosting a St. Patrick’s-themed brunch on March 16 and 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The St. Pat’s brunches will include a themed menu and specialty cocktails. Reservations can be made online.
MCINTYRE’S PUB
In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day 2024, McIntryre’s Pub, located at 1747 Hooper Ave., Toms River will have bagpipers during the afternoon and will return again in the evening. The restaurant will also offer a St. Patty’s Day limited menu consisting of traditional Irish dishes such as corned beef and cabbage and Reuben egg rolls.
CELTIC COTTAGE PUB AND PATIO BAR
The Celtic Cottage Pub and Patio Bar, located at 608 2nd Ave. in Long Branch will offer a St. Patrick’s Day menu comprised of corned beef sandwiches, served with potato chips and a pickle, fish and chips, Irish sausage and chips, chicken tenders and cottage fries and a side of cottage fries. All festive entrees are $15 a plate.
MARTELL’S TIKI BAR
The normally tropical vibe of Martell’s is set to get a little greener on March 17 for St. Patrick’s Day with Irish-themed beer and food specials.
Patrons who are feeling lucky can stop by for a brew and a corned beef sandwich or Reuben and participate in giveaways during the day on Sunday.
There’s no cover for the St. Patrick’s festivities, which last from 12 to 4 p.m. All the while, live music will be provided on the indoor stage by Undisputed, who describe themselves as “modern rock and dance meets hip-hop, punk, pop, ska and funk.” Martell’s is located at 308-312 Boardwalk.
BEACH HAUS BREWERY
Beach Haus Brewery, located at 801 Main Street in Belmar, will offer special Reuben and corned beef specials, alongside a drink special menu, for St. Patrick’s Day this year.
Beach Haus Brewery is the sole brewery in the Borough of Belmar and has a rotating cast of roughly 15 to 20 beers on tap to be enjoyed by the pint or in flights. The establishment is open on the holiday from noon to 8 p.m. Kitchen stops serving food an hour before closing.
SHORE HOUSE TAVERN
“St. Pat’s is back,” according to Shore House Tavern, located at 2114 NJ-88 in Point Pleasant. All month long, a specialty menu is available, with Irish-themed cocktails, drinks and delicacies.
One of the featured items is their Irish Iced Coffee Flight, featuring four iced down variations of the traditional “Irish Coffee” including Jameson Cold Brew, Jameson Cast Mates IPA, Jameson Orange and Jameson Irish Whiskey. This only costs bar patrons $12.
On St. Patrick’s Day, Shore House will open its doors at 7:30 a.m. and will close at 2 a.m. on Sunday. There will be an outdoor tent, a Jameson ice luge, Irish step dancers, bagpipers, specialty menu, custom cocktails, giveaways and a DJ encore at 3 p.m.
THE IDLE HOUR
The Idle Hour, located at 2600 Route 88, will be having their “St. Paddys Tent Party” on Saturday, March 16, with a rain date of Sunday, March 17.
Starting at 1 p.m., residents can enjoy drink specials and a specialty menu. Plus the Mike Dalton Band will be playing from 2 to 5 p.m., with bagpipes playing at 4 p.m.
ST. STEPHEN’S GREEN PUBLICK HOUSE
St. Stephen’s Green located at 2031 Route 71, Spring Lake, is offering their corned beef and cabbage all month long.
Don’t miss the Dublin Rolls, which feature pulled corned beef, braised cabbage, and vegetables wrapped in egg roll skins with Guinness mustard dipping sauce. Fans of Jameson should check out the Lucky Lemonade or the Honey Highball.
On St. Patrick’s Day, St. Stephen’s will be fully stocked on Jameson, Tullamore Dew and Guinness. The Snakes will be performing all day and night. Corned beef and cabbage will, of course, be served and breakfast will also be served 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
HARRIGAN’S PUB
Harrigan’s Pub, located at Route 71 and Baltimore Blvd. in Sea Girt is your St. Pat’s headquarters. While you sip on a perfectly poured Guinness, you can enjoy live Irish tunes by The Black Ties. Harrigan’s will be serving Irish favorites including corned beef, shepherd’s pie, fish ‘n chips, Guinness stew and of course, plenty of Guinness. Bagpipers will be stopping by throughout the day, as well.
MCCANN’S TAVERN
The Doubting Toms will be performing at McCann’s Tavern, located at 1704 Main Street in Lake Como, on St. Pat’s from 2 to 6 p.m. The Irish pub’s usual Irish fare will be served, alongside a pint of Guinness or your beverage of choice.
THE IRISH RAIL
Located at the Manasquan Train Station, the Irish Rail is often a stop at the beginning or end of one’s railway journey. On St. Pat’s; however, you may want to settle in for a sampling of the Irish menu and a perfect pour of a Guinness pint.
KLEE’S BAR & GRILL
Located at 101 Boulevard, Seaside Heights, Klee’s Bar & Grill always has their Irish flag flying. On St. Patrick’s Day, you can expect to find Irish beverages, Irish fare and Irish music. Look for old favorites and St. Patrick’s Day staples like corned beef & cabbage and Irish bangers and mash and many more. Klee’s has live music every weekend on Friday and Saturday, but this weekend you can expect live music on Sunday too — Jimmy & Gene Duo will go on at 1 p.m.
DUBLIN HOUSE, RED BANK
Located at 30 Monmouth Street in Red Bank, the Dublin House is well known for its Irish pub atmosphere. You’ll enjoy tasty Irish food that takes you back to the homeland including shepherd’s pie, corned beef, bangers & mash, a classic reuben and more. The beer will be flowing and the Irish music will be playing on Sunday, March 17, just a little louder than it does on any other day.

Area breweries will roll out the green carpet — and specialty brews — for St. Patrick’s Day. Here’s a few local spots and their plans to help you get into the spirit.
BEACH HAUS BREWERY, BELMAR
Parade Day Coffee Stout is blended with a roast by local roaster Turnstile Coffee and its still around after its debut for Parade Day at the beginning of the month. BC MacGowan will be performing on St. Pat’s, 2 to 5 p.m.
BRADLEY BREW PROJECT, BRADLEY BEACH
The BBP x Hoagitos collab is also available at the “Ultimate St. Patty’s Party” which will feature Hoagitos Reuben sandwiches being served from 1 to 4 p.m. The party continues until 7 p.m. and many seasonal beers will be available all day.
LAST WAVE BREWING COMPANY, POINT PLEASANT BEACH
It’s officially Red Ale season at the Jersey Shore, according to Last Wave. They will be serving Red Sky, their favorite red ale that tastes extra delicious around St. Paddy’s Day with a delicate balance of clean drinkability and rich notes of toffee and caramel.
