BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Brick Township Board of Education announced the new principals of Warren H. Wolf Preschool and Lanes Mill Elementary School, as well as the new assistant principal at Veterans Memorial Elementary School, at its June 26 board meeting.
Gerri Bayles was named principal of Lanes Mill Elementary School, Jacqueline Janik was named principal of Warren H. Wolf Preschool, and Jeanette Wehner assistant principal of Veterans Memorial Middle School.
Bayles said, “It is with such gratitude and excitement that I accept the position at Lanes Mill Elementary School as the principal. I am truly honored to be entrusted with the leadership in this remarkable school community.”
She continued, “I believe that elementary education lays the foundation for a child’s lifelong learning, confidence and character. Every child who walks through our doors deserves to be seen, supported, challenged and inspired.”
According to Bayles, every teacher deserves a leader who listens, collaborates and leads with purpose and heart.
“I come to this role with 33 years in education, a deep commitment to fostering safe, inclusive and thriving environments where students flourish. One of the greatest gifts that Brick has bestowed on me are the mentors that I have had along the way and will continue to have on my journey,” said Bayles.
Bayles acknowledged Alyce Anderson, who was her mentor as a principal at Herbertsville Elementary School; Susan McNamara, who was her mentor through Georgian Court as she got her superintendents certificate; and to Superintendent Thomas Farrell and the board of education for taking the chance on her.
“To the incredible staff at Lanes Mill Elementary School, I look forward to learning alongside you and supporting the work you do everyday for our children. To parents and guardians, I promise transparency, collaboration and a shared vision for success. To our students who are the heart of everything we do, I can’t wait to cheer you on, walk the hallways with you and watch you grow,” said Bayles.
Bayles also thanked her family for the support.
