BRICK TOWNSHIP — Justin Holden, 42, of Brick Township, pled guilty to unlawful possession of a handgun in connection with an incident that occurred on Feb. 27, 2024 in Brick, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer via a release on June 30.
According to the release, at the time of his sentencing on Aug. 22, the State will be seeking a term of five years in New Jersey State Prison with a 42-month period of parole ineligibility.
On Feb. 27, 2024, in furtherance of an ongoing investigation, the Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team executed court-authorized search warrants at a residence on Rocky Mountain Boulevard as well as a motor vehicle owned by Holden.
As a result, officers seized a Glock G43 9mm handgun and hollow point ammunition. Further investigation revealed that the handgun had been reported stolen out of Georgia, according to the release.
Holden was charged accordingly on a warrant and his name was entered into the National Crime Information Center Database.
According to the release, on March 11, 2024, Holden was taken into custody by officers from the Brick Township Police Department. He was transported to the Ocean County Jail and subsequently released as a consequence of New Jersey Bail Reform.
Holden is presently lodged in the Ocean County Jail on an unrelated matter.
