BAY HEAD — The Bay Head Board of Education adopted a $4,935,951 budget at Tuesday night’s meeting, seeing a raise in taxes of about $274 annually for an average assessed home.
For an average assessed home in Bay Head of $1,629,912, annual school taxes will be $4,123, a $274 increase from last year, with $158 of that coming from the approved referendum.
School Business Administrator Christopher Mullins previously said the budget increase is “based on salary and contractual obligation as well as normal increases in the course of doing business.”
He added, “The proposed 2025-2026 Bay Head School budget reflects the necessary financial planning required to support the continued success of our students and the long-term sustainability of our school. The budget increase is driven by two primary factors: the ongoing operational needs of the district and the implementation of improvements approved by the community in the September 2024 referendum.”
“This budget ensures that Bay Head School continues to provide a high-quality educational experience for all students. Importantly, there are no reductions in programs or services. In fact, the budget includes the addition of one new teaching position to better meet the academic and developmental needs of our students,” said Mullins.
