BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Brick Green Fair, the township’s annual sustainability showcase returns on May 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bob Anstett Cultural Arts Center at 515 Herbertsville Road.
The Green Fair is a community-wide celebration designed to educate and encourage people of all ages, backgrounds and incomes to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle.
Mayor Lisa Crate told The Ocean Star, “I think the Green Fair is one of our more important events we host throughout the year. This event brings residents, students, local organizations and businesses together to promote eco-friendly practices and educate the public on environmental issues. I especially love the student participation because they genuinely have some great ideas and have completed some really cool projects to share with the public.”
The outdoor event’s theme is Think Green, Save Green and focuses on saving dollars while being sustainable.
“This year’s theme is pretty clever because it’s a reminder that when you start using some of the energy efficient programs that are available to residents, people can really start to not only see a tangible change for the good for our environment, but they can also start to save money. Think Green, Save Green is really a great way to have people really start to think about environmentalism, because everyone likes to save money,” said Mayor Crate.
According to the township, the Green Fair will feature exhibitors, vendors, prizes, refreshments, door prizes and more. Admission to the event is free.
