POINT PLEASANT BEACH — The Point Pleasant Beach Rotary Club is hosting its yearly gift auction fundraiser on Saturday, May 10, with tickets on sale now.
With prizes like more than 125 gift baskets and a PlayStation 5 available, along with a 50/50 raffle, games and more, the Rotary Club’s charity gift auction will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on May 10 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8867, 373 Adamston Road, Brick Township.
Tickets for the 21-plus event cost $25 and include dessert, soda and water. Tickets can be purchased at Manasquan Bank, 85 Bridge Ave., Bay Head, or by calling event chair Pam Maguire at 732-666-1082. Guests must bring their own food. No tickets will be sold at the door.
“We’re a not-for-profit,” said event chair Pam Maguire. “The only money that we get is from our fundraisers. What we do with our money is support scholarships to the Point Pleasant Beach High School, St. Gregory’s Food Pantry, Simon’s Soup Kitchen in Seaside Heights…A lot of those kinds of things.”
“The gift auction is one of our largest fundraisers, and the money goes back into helping the community,” Maguire said.
Maguire also explained how being a member of Rotary can amplify the positive impact of community service.
“As a singular individual, sometimes it’s hard to help the community,” she said. “But when you put all of us together, we work together and we can support a lot more people.”
