BAY HEAD — Ivory and Strings, a concert series hosted by Bay Head Chapel, is set for 2 p.m. on May 4.
Bay Head Chapel, 442 Main Ave., will host its final concert series of the season to welcome the warmer spring and summer weathers.
Stephanie O’Donnell, trustee of the Bay Head Chapel, told The Ocean Star, “We aim to bring some music to the community and some social gatherings, along with introducing and bringing life to the chapel.”
Tickets cost $30 per person and are limited. They can be purchased online at EventBrite and searching for “Bay Head Chapel” or by contacting the church at 732-892-2317.
The performance will feature five musicians, Hungarian-born violinist Bela Horvath, Korean-American violinist/violist Ye-jin Han, Chilean-American violist Daniel Lamas, pioneering cellist, chamber musician and educator Jacqueline Choi and Bay Head’s own pianist, O’Donnell.
“This is our last concert of the season…We are closing with some heavy-duty classical music,” said O’Donnell. The concert will feature songs and works from artists such as Vivaldi, Beethoven, Piazzola, Schubert, Mozart and Dvorak.
O’Donnell said, “We do not have a nearby orchestra. We have the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, but to really have some classical music…we don’t have that near home, so we thought it would be great closer.”
