BRICK TOWNSHIP — Brick Township’s recreation, parks, department of public works and EMS, all presented their budgets before the township council and public at the March 25 council meeting.
The recreation department’s budget presentation was made by Business Administrator Joanne Bergin and she said, “The mission of the recreation department is to change the overall physical and recreational needs of the public by promoting the quality of life for our residents through fun family events and a variety of activities and programs for all ages.”
According to Bergin, in 2025, the recreation department is excited to continue facilitating a diverse mix of programming and events.
In 2024, the department brought back National Kids to Park Day, which was an activity-packed day for children in grades kindergarten through third grade and a parent, who hopped on a bus and visited five of the township’s newly renovated parks, with activities and special events planned at each stop.
She said, “After popular demand, the Senior Prom came back after taking a break during COVID. The very popular Senior Prom with high school seniors serving our township seniors made its return in 2024 and will be back again this year.”
