POINT PLEASANT BEACH — The Point Pleasant Beach Borough Council introduced its 2025 municipal budget, tentatively totaling $19,020,452.88, at a meeting on Tuesday.
Homeowners in Point Pleasant Beach can expect to pay 48.4 cents for every $100 of assessed property value, or 1.3 cents more than 2024, according to Borough Administrator Christine Riehl. Based on an average property assessment of $750,000, the local tax rate is estimated to increase by 3.3% in the 2025 fiscal year over 2024. This translates to a $322,414 increase in the tax levy, from $9.76 million to $10,080,002 year-over-year.
A home assessed at the borough average would pay $98.96 more in municipal purpose taxes in 2025 than 2024, totaling about $2,175.
The budget was introduced unanimously by the borough council. A hearing on the budget, followed by an adoption vote on the budget resolution, will take place at the council meeting on Tuesday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room of borough hall, located at 416 New Jersey Ave.
