BRICK TOWNSHIP — The township council, at its March 11 meeting, adopted an ordinance that accepted the donation of certain properties.
Mayor Lisa Crate said, “This ordinance authorizes the acceptance of donated property at the corner of Herbertsville Road and Maple Avenue. This property has been identified by the Brick Open Space Saver’s Committee as an appropriate addition to the township’s recreation and open space inventory.”
“We are very happy to accept this property for our open space,” said Mayor Crate. The donation was made by the property owner – Arnoul, Wegener, Arlauckas and Doyle LLP.
The mayor noted that the township is specifically not accepting the adjoining property owned by the same owner as it has a single family home on it.
According to the ordinance, the township will waive the outstanding property taxes due on the property at the time of closing, which are currently in the amount of $3,287.66 through the first quarter of 2025.
The council adopted the ordinance unanimously with a vote of 7 to 0.
