LAKE COMO — The borough council, at its Jan. 21 regular meeting, adopted a resolution to apply for grant funding for continued Behrman Park improvements.
According to the resolution, offered by Council President Douglas Witte, the borough is seeking a $100,000 grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs to carry out site improvements, lighting improvements, landscaping upgrades and reconstruction of fencing at Behrman Park.
Mayor Kevin Higgins clarified that the application would be for a flat grant, rather than a matching grant.
“We’re focusing on the parking lot area,” Borough Administrator Andrew Huisman said.
The resolution was unanimously adopted by the present borough council. Council members Christopher D’Antuono, Hawley Scull and Nicholas DeMauro were absent from the meeting.
