BRADLEY BEACH — The Bradley Beach Business and Community Alliance (BBBCA) held its annual January Jam event on Saturday, Jan. 25, in the Bradley Beach Fire Hall where attendees danced the night away to raise money for two of the borough’s volunteer non-profit first responder organizations.
From 6:30 to 9 p.m., the night of music, dancing and fun benefited two of Bradley Beach’s essential organizations: United Engine and Truck Company and the First Aid Squad.
“The community of Bradley Beach is so caring and giving. Our residents contributed their funds plus great spirit to make January Jam a success. And over 20 local businesses donated food and auction items. The Bradley Beach Business and Community Alliance is proud to connect our community,” said Paula Gavin, President of BBBCA Board of Directors.
Over 125 attendees packed into the Fire Hall, ultimately raising a total of $6,000 for the two volunteer organizations, according to Gavin.
An appetizer bar sponsored by the BBBCA featured bites from Bradley Beach restaurants, live music curated by Alex Levine, of Idle Hand Barbershop and the band The Gaslight Anthem, set the tone and featured performances from Strumberry Pie, The Pontiacs and Chris Brown.
The dance floor was filled with Bradley Beach residents and visitors who showcased their best moves while local musicians performed at the vibrant community-wide occasion.
Council President Jane DeNoble attended the Jam, and said, “The event was a testament to the strength and generosity of our businesses and community. Everyone had a wonderful time dancing and enjoying the delicious food, while also contributing to a crucial cause. This event truly showcased the power of community spirit and the importance of supporting those volunteers who keep us safe.”
