BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Brick Township Board of Education held its reorganization meeting on Jan. 2, when two new board members and one incumbent were sworn in and the board named its president and vice president for 2025.
George Malgeri and John Henry, both newcomers, were sworn in as board members. Victoria Pakala, an incumbent, was also sworn in.
Malgeri said, “Thank you all for being here tonight…it means a lot to see so many people who care about the town, the district and the community and what takes place and what we can do, hopefully for you and with you all, to make for a better district, a better town and a better community.”
Henry said, “Thank you, everyone. I am going to do my best that I can with my educational background to serve the children of Brick in the best capacity. I also look forward to working with everyone on this board and the administration. I also look forward to listening and hearing your comments, as parents and members of the community.”
Pakala said, “I’d like to congratulate the new members of the board and the new officers.”
Board members Frances DiBenedictis and Alison Kennedy echoed Pakala’s statement and congratulated the new board members.
Malgeri received 12,324 votes in the November election; Henry received 11,978 votes and Pakala received 13,053 votes.
