POINT PLEASANT — The Point Pleasant Board of Education held its annual reorganization on Monday, Jan. 6, welcoming newcomer Hannah Corbin to the board while also swearing in incumbent members Dawn Coughlan and Larry Williams to new terms.
The meeting began with Business Administrator Christina Fessler administering the oath of office to Corbin, Coughlan and Williams. Each of them won one of the three open seats that were up for election this past November.
The board also unanimously selected this year’s board president and vice president, Michael Sullivan and Stephen Henry respectively.
Sullivan then thanked outgoing president Coughlan for running the board over the last year. He also told The Ocean Star, “I am absolutely thrilled to take on the role as board of education president, where I can help shape the future of our students and schools. The opportunity to collaborate with our outstanding educators, families and community members to enhance our educational system provides me with a profound sense of purpose and excitement. I am very eager for the opportunity to positively impact each and every student in our outstanding school district. I am extremely proud to be a Panther.”
