BRICK TOWNSHIP — The township council named a council president and a council vice president and set the meeting dates for the 2025 council at the Jan. 7 reorganization meeting.
Councilman Derrick Ambrosino was named council president, after being the council vice president in 2024.
Councilman Vince Minichino, who served as the council president in 2024, nominated Ambrosino for council president.
Minichino said, “Derrick has been on council for a few years now and always has something intelligent to say. He does a very good job and is very passionate about what he does. He’s committed to keeping Brick a better place for the people, for the mayor and for the council. We all work together, but the common goal is for the people of Brick Township.”
According to Minichino, Ambrosino has deep roots in Brick Township. His parents live in Brick and, along with his wife, Ambrosino is raising his family in Brick.
“He’s also on a host of committees. Business and finance, land use, public safety, he’s also a liaison to the MUA (Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority)…again he’s very committed to this town, there’s a host of reasons and I could go on and on about why he should be president for 2025,” said Minichino.
The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Heather deJong and was approved unanimously by council.
Councilman Steve Feinman made a motion to name Councilman Vince Minichino as council vice president. Councilwoman deJong seconded the motion, with the council approving the nomination unanimously.
