WALL TOWNSHIP — Wall Township High School guitar teacher Stephen Bryant will be releasing his jazz folk album “New Town” on Spotify and Apple Music on Jan. 10.
Bryant, who releases his projects as Red123, has been creating music since he was young. In his early 20s, he played in the U.S. Navy Band on guitar for six years, which he says infused his music “with a unique blend of structure and improvisation, akin to jazz.” Bryant is currently a guitar instructor for a beginner’s course at Wall Township High School.
Red123 began as a basement project during the first COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, with Bryant messing around with varying sounds and innovative techniques. Red123 released its first album in 2022, entitled “Folk Song,” and now awaits the release of this new project. Bryant mainly writes his own music, but also features covers from time to time.
Bryant spoke to The Coast Star about the album, and how he hopes it’s received by the public.
“This album has been worked on for quite a while,” Bryant said.
