WALL TOWNSHIP — It’s a common event when house pets sneak out and explore the town on their own, to inevitably be brought back briskly by neighbors or the local police. It’s pretty uncommon for a cat to return home almost two years after going missing. But one lost cat did just that, thanks to a good Samaritan.
Jennifer Lynch of Wall Township was shopping with her daughter in town, when she received a call from the Squan Animal Hospital. Her family’s cat, Nolan, had gone missing nearly two years ago. Now, just days after Christmas, he had been found and his microchip traced back to Lynch.
A Wall resident – who requested to be identified only by her first name, Karen – is responsible for taking Nolan in for a night, before taking him to the vet the next morning to check for a chip. Karen spoke to The Coast Star about Nolan’s whereabouts, and how she became the unknowing hero of this story.
