BAY HEAD — All Saints Church in Bay Head will be hosting an Epiphany concert and reception this Friday.
On Jan. 3, members from the community are invited to 500 Lake Ave. at 6:30 p.m. for a fun and festive evening.
There will be carols, choral music, multimedia storytelling and plenty of audience participation with copious amounts of singing.
Epiphany is a Christian holiday that celebrates the manifestation of Jesus to the world. It is also known as Three Kings’ Day, as the holiday commemorates the day the three Wise Men visited the baby Jesus.
The concert will be followed by a reception in the lobby of the church with light refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.
Chris Kyse, of All Saints, told The Ocean Star, “There is going to be sing-a-longs, which all should be very rousing as I’ve heard. We are going to have Christmas carols with a reception to follow with punch, cookies and who knows what else.”
“We like to welcome the community into the church,” said Kyse. “All Saints Church has been there for over 100 years. It started as a summer chapel and it went full-time in the 80s. It really is a centerpiece there right off the park and everything. People walk by it all the time so we try to stay active in the community and open our doors…This is just another opportunity for people to find out, visit and feel comfortable with us.”
