MANASQUAN — The Manasquan Borough Council met on Dec. 16 and passed a resolution adopting water and sewer rates for the upcoming year. For both residential and commercial users, the base water and sewer rates for the year will be $674.16.
The resolution states, “This charge represents the standby to serve our fixed charges incurred in the operation of the municipal water and sewer system.”
The yearly fee will be paid in equal quarterly installments of $168.54, according to the resolution.
For residents and commercial users who are not connected to both the municipal and water sewer systems, the base rate for each system is $337.08, with quarterly installment fees of $84.27.
Use of both water and sewer systems will be measured by the number of gallons of water use shown on the borough’s water meter. The charge for both water and sewage uses shall be $5.06 per 1,000 gallons of water, while the charges for individual systems shall be $2.53 per 1,000 gallons of water.
The resolution states, “any user found to be receiving water service that is not being metered shall be charged at the rate of $2.53 per day.”
2025 council meeting dates
The council additionally passed a resolution at its Nov. 11 meeting adopting a meeting schedule for the upcoming year.
The council will next meet for its reorganization meeting on January 6, at 7 p.m. at Borough Hall.
For the remainder of the year, the council will hold regular business meetings at 7 p.m. in Borough Hall on Jan. 21, Feb. 3 and 18, March 3 and 17, April 7 and 21, May 5 and 19, June 2 and 16, July 7 and 21, Aug. 4 and 18, Sept. 2 and 15, Oct. 6 and 20, Nov. 10 and Dec. 1 and 15.
The council’s two budget meetings will be held on March 15 and 22 and 9 a.m. in Borough Hall.
