LAKE COMO — The borough council, at its Dec. 17 regular meeting, adopted two resolutions awarding contracts for improvements at Behrman Park.
The first resolution, offered by Councilman Christopher D’Antuono, awards a contract for the installation and repair of the stormwater drainage pipeline at Behrman Park.
According to the resolution, the borough was awarded a grant through the American Rescue Plan to fund installation and repair of the stormwater pipes in the parking lot for the Behrman Park at its entrance at 18th Avenue and Railroad.
The councilman said that three quotes were solicited for the project and the low quote was received from Mark Woszczak Mechanical Contractors of Manasquan in the amount of $24,925.
The second resolution, offered by Councilwoman Heather Albala-Doyle, awards a contract for parking lot improvements at Behrman Park.
“(This) piggybacks off of what Councilman D’Antuono just said,” Councilwoman Albala-Doyle said. “It is from the same grant money through that American Rescue Plan and this is for the parking lot at Behrman Park.”
According to the resolution, the money will be used to re-pave post-stormwater utility repairs in the parking lot.
Councilwoman Albala-Doyle said that three quotes were solicited for the project and the low quote was received from Fernandes Construction Inc. of Monroe in the amount of $43,416.
Borough Administrator Andrew Huisman said that while he could not confirm at the meeting, “I believe striping (of the parking lot) would be done after and is not a part of this grant.”
Both resolutions were unanimously adopted by the present council. Councilwoman Hawley Scull was absent from the night’s meeting.
