POINT PLEASANT — The Village Foster Family Closet will be hosting a charity karaoke night on Oct. 26.
The Village Foster Family Closet, 2429 Bridge Ave., is a nonprofit organization that serves foster families and kids allowing them to “shop” for free in their storefront.
The karaoke night will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, in conjunction with Raging Rose Beauty in Eatontown.
Admission costs $25 per person, and attendees are asked to bring a ShopRite gift card, to help prepare foster families for the holiday season.
For every gift card donated, Raging Rose Beauty will match the value of the card with its own gift card for any service for their salon.
Tara Rostron-Lorenz, a board member of Foster Family Closet said the beauty salon contacted the group about doing an event like this to help bring attention to The Village and all the good work they do for the community.
“We are really focusing on Thanksgiving coming up for foster families and being able to provide just a little help with meals. We know how much grocery prices are right now, so if we can take a little bit of the burden off to help with giving these families a nice Thanksgiving,” said Rostron-Lorenz.
She further said, “An event like this, especially in an area that might be untapped, because we don’t have a location in Eatontown…I think that is a great intermediate place that can get people aware of our mission and what we are doing. We run solely on donations.”
