LAKE COMO — The mayor and borough council approved a resolution awarding a contract for renovations of the baseball infield at Behrman Park during their last meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
According to the adopted resolution, offered by Councilwoman Heather Albala-Doyle, three quotes had been solicited for the project and it was ultimately awarded to “the apparent low quote” from Down to Earth Landscaping, of Jackson, in the amount of $28,700, at the recommendation of the project engineer.
Mayor Kevin Higgins explained that the resolution, which had been a late addition to the night’s agenda, follows the recently accepted FY2023 Local Recreation Improvement Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for renovations to the park.
“That is awarding the work for the grant we received in October, which was approved under Resolution 2023-123 at the time, so this is approving the work for that grant,” he explained.
