MANASQUAN — The Rite Aid drug store at 149 Main St. will be closing permanently after Nov. 30.
The longtime Main Street fixture is one of a number of locations across the country that is shutting its doors as the Rite Aid company downsizes, having recently filed for bankruptcy.
“I’m sad to not be able to see everyone,” said store manager Christine Eshleman. “It’s been lovely.”
She complimented her employees as well as the town community.
As a manager, she said, she did not know of a specific reason for the closing but noted the national downsizing of the company.
