BRICK TOWNSHIP — Control of the Brick Council did not change, but was up during the election as incumbents candidates Vince Minichino, Derrick Ambrosino, Melissa Travers and newcomer Steve Feinman have won a contested race for four-year terms on the Brick Township Council as of the Tuesday, Nov. 7 general election.
The trailing Republican council candidates, all newcomers, were Mary Jonas Buckley, Theresa Gallagher, James Palmisano and Rocco Palmieri.
The four winners were the Democratic council candidates. Mr. Minichino received 9,412 votes; Mr. Ambrosino received 9,384 votes; Ms. Travers received 9,460 votes; and Mr. Feinman received 9,103 votes in unofficial tallies reported on Tuesday.
Mr. Ambrosino said, “I’m looking forward to continuing to serve our community by supporting our local police, efficiently delivering our local services, and more diligently maintaining our core-tenet of fiscal conservatism.”
Ms. Travers said, “Thank you to all the voters that came out to support the Crate Team. I am so proud of the work our team put in this election and am excited to be working with the first female elected mayor of Brick.”
Mr. Feinman said, “Thank you for everyone’s support and I am so honored and humbled to be part of this dynamic team and look forward to all of the continued great services that we are going to provide to the residents of Brick.”
On the GOP side, Ms. Buckley received 8,651 votes; Ms. Gallagher received 8,892 votes; Mr. Palmisano received 8,698 votes; and Mr. Palmieri received 8,628 votes.
Ms. Buckley, Ms. Gallagher, Mr. Palmisano and Mr. Palmieri did not respond to requests for comment by The Ocean Star.
