POINT PLEASANT — Harvey United Methodist Church hosted a trunk or treat on Tuesday, Halloween, seeing dozens of kids of all ages come to the church’s parking lot to receive some candy.
Trunks of church-goers were decorated in a variety of different themes, from classic skeletons, to more less traditional trunks, such as Santa’s workshop.
One of the members of the parish, Bonnie Durchanin [who is known locally as Ms. Bonnie], had a variety of treats available, and even separated them based on with and without peanuts, even had treats available for children with gluten allergies.
“Events like these get people out, gets people mingling and keeps the kids happy,” she said.
Marge Scanlon, another member of the parish, said this is an annual event that has been going on for at least the last 15 years.
