WALL TOWNSHIP — Families, children and pets in costumes gathered on the Squankum-Allenwood Road campus of Grace Bible Church in Wall on Friday evening, Oct. 21 for its 10th annual fall festival.
Visitors enjoyed pulled-pork sandwiches, burgers, soup and cookies and browsed information tables featuring information about the church and its programs. Distributed materials include “perspective cards” with religious guidance.
Sergio Fossa, Staff Pastor and an Elder of the church, explained that the event was designed to be family-friendly as well as educational.
The Jersey Shore’s Grace Bible Church is a small branch of a larger congregation, which originally was based in Texas before Senior Pastor/Elder Randy Smith opened the church on the campus in 2010.
“We came to this campus about a decade ago, so we thought, ‘Hey, let’s use this and serve the community,’” said Pastor Fossa, who coordinated the event. “The idea is to give people an alternative to Halloween… it can get on all types shapes and sizes and themes, sometimes pretty gory, scary.”
