SEA GIRT— St. Mark’s Church is now collecting donations of winter clothing items for its annual coat drive giveaway on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m., following the weekly Spanish Mass, to support the parish community.
The church is asking for very gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, boots and sweaters, in adults, children and teen sizes, to be dropped off starting now through Nov. 19 at St. Mark’s Church basement [near the elevator], located at 215 Crescent Pkwy.
Church members are looking for assistance sorting and distributing the items and invite local students in need of community service hours to help on the day of Nov. 19 from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
St. Mark’s Church member Marianne Schobel has been involved in the annual coat drive for 20 years working alongside former member Georgeann Donatelli to orchestrate the event each year.
