BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Brick Township Council adopted an ordinance to decrease the speed limit to 40 miles per hour on a portion of Herbertsville Road between Maple Avenue and Lanes Mill Road, at the council’s Tuesday, Oct. 24 meeting.
Prior to the adoption of the amended speed limit, the speed limit was 45 miles per hour on that portion of Herbertsville Road.
Councilman Derrick Ambrosino said, “In July, the township received correspondence from Ocean County Engineer John Ernst in response to complaints received from multiple residents regarding speeding on Herbertsville Road.”
According to the councilman, two speed surveys were conducted along Herbertsville Road. The first speed survey was conducted from Jan. 17 to Jan. 23 in the vicinity of Saw Mill Road, and the second from Jan. 23 to Jan. 30 in the vicinity of Albemarle Road.
