BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Brick Township Historical Society will hold a meeting on Nov. 14 that will include a live performance and history lesson on bluegrass music.
The meeting at 7:30 p.m. will be held at the Herbertsville Firehouse located at 601 Herbertsville Rd., Brick.
A traditional bluegrass band, “The Last Whippoorwill” will both perform live music and present a program on the history of bluegrass music. The Brick-based band includes: Harry Chadwick, guitar; Jeff Propert, mandolin; Dave MacDonald, bass; Carl Beaton, banjo; and Joe Fili, fiddle.
According to the historical society, the band performs across the tri-state area and appeared at the Ocean County Fair on the Fourth of July.
Press Secretary of the Brick Township Historical Society Jane Fabach said, “The title of their CD, ‘In The Tradition,’ says it all.”
Admission to the meeting is free and the public is welcome to attend. The historical society asks that attendees park in the rear of the firehouse and use the door on the right on ground level.
