SPRING LAKE — Andrew Maggs is the new pastor at the Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church, coming from Asbury Park.
He joined the church on July 1 of this year. Since then, he has spent much of his time preparing for Sunday worship, visiting congregation members unable to attend and facilitating small groups such as bible studies. He also explores the community when he can.
“It’s been a perfect fit,” he said. “To be able to be here… it’s wonderful.”
He was appointed by the Greater New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church. Since then, he said, the transition has been smooth for him, since he and his fiance, who is also a pastor who recently changed churches, have been helping each other with their moves.
