POINT PLEASANT — The Point Pleasant Boro Band Boosters will be holding a clothing drive fundraiser on Monday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m., and Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 3 to 5 p.m.
The band boosters will collect new or gently used men, women and children’s clothing including coats, shoes, purses, belts, bed and bath linens, jewelry, hats, backpacks and stuffed animals. Also accepted are bicycles and baby strollers.
Residents can drop these items off Point Pleasant Borough High School in front of the auditorium doors. Curbside pickup is also available.
The band boosters requests that residents do not bring pillows, books, toys, furniture, appliances or household items.
All clothing collected is distributed to local thrift shops and in areas of need, according to Susan Mammano, member of the band boosters. She also said that they do not shred any clothing to be used as rags.
“All clean wearable clothing and shoes are reused by less fortunate people and families. The clothing does not end up [in] landfills, thus helping to keep America green and clean,” said Ms. Mammano.
