BRICK TOWNSHIP — Brick students visited the Field of Dreams, which according to the Brick Township School District, was an event that let students experience all the magic that the Field of Dreams had to offer.
The Field of Dreams is located at 1505 North Bay Ave., Toms River and is a fully inclusive playground where people with and without disabilities can play alongside each other.
Susan A. McNamara, director of planning, research and evaluation from the Brick Township School District, said in a press release, “The founder, Mr. Kane, built the complex in honor of his son Gavin. Gavin, a young man, born neurotypical, experienced a traumatic accident when younger.”
According to a press release, in an instant, his life changed and the Kanes became a special needs family.
The Field was made out of necessity, as the Kanes noticed not many playgrounds were equipped for those with special needs.
