BRICK TOWNSHIP — The township council approved three shared-service agreements with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office at the Oct. 10 meeting.
The three shared services that were approved were for the Driving While Intoxicated Enforcement Program, the “Move Over” Law Enforcement Program and the Drug Recognition Expert Callout Program.
The three shared-service agreements will all expire on Sept. 30, 2024.
On the Driving While Intoxicated Enforcement Program, Councilman Perry Albanese said, “This resolution authorizes a shared service agreement with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office… which is aimed at identifying and removing intoxicated people from roadways.”
“As part of this agreement, Brick Township agrees to provide the manpower in the need of enforcement. The township receives a flat hourly rate for reimbursement for the police officers assigned to this enforcement,” said Councilman Albanese.
