SPRING LAKE — The St. Andrews United Methodist Church opened its new thrift shop, selling donated items of all kinds to raise money.
The shop opened Sept. 16, and operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It operates at 907 Fourth Ave. in what is called the middle building, which is attached to the church and can be entered from the middle of the block.
Volunteers from the church, as well as several from the community, run the shop in three-hour shifts.
“So far we have plenty of people,” said Val Crossman, who set up the shop along with fellow parishioner Michele Neiberlein. “We accept donations when we’re open and we’ve had amazing donations. Waterford class, coach bags, unbelievable what people are bringing us.”
