BELMAR — Nonprofit organization The Breasties held their first Beach Haus Bash at Beach Haus Brewery on Thursday, Oct. 5 to raise funds for their mission to create a supportive community for those affected by breast and gynecologic cancers.
The fundraiser event was a new spin on the organization’s annual Move Mountains Gala, which has previously been held in New York since the group’s inception in 2018. This year, Beach Haus Brewery was able to offer the space to bring the event to Belmar to provide their supporters with a night in the fall weather in support of a good cause.
“We know we have a big New Jersey local community here, so we figured why not try it?” said Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Allie Brumel. “Beach Haus is a home to me and they’ve been so supportive of our mission.”
Attendees were able to have a commemorative photo snapped on their way into the event at 7 p.m. before making their way to cocktail hour at the brewery’s rooftop bar on the third floor. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres were passed around while the gathered supporters enjoyed live music from a three-piece ensemble. Guests also had the opportunity to have an artist create a minimalist marker portrait of them in their dressy attire.
Following the cocktail hour, the event moved downstairs to the second floor at 8 p.m., where various games like mega-jenga and shuffleboard were ready for attendees to enjoy alongside a light buffet, DJ entertainment and another photo-op setting, this time featuring a backdrop of members from the Breasties community throughout their treatments. The event also included a silent gift auction featuring a mix of memorabilia, artwork and jewelry.
