MANASQUAN — The borough council adopted two ordinances after public hearings during its meeting on Monday night.
The first approves the purchase of equipment for the Department of Public Works, including a self-contained vacuum debris collector. The second one corrects a typo made in a previous ordinance. Both received yes votes from all members present — the mayor, Edward Donovan, was absent due to illness.
Councilman Michael W. Mangan commented on the equipment to be purchased, saying it aligns with the council’s schedule for replacing equipment.
“Public works equipment is expensive,” said Councilman Mangan. “Managing how you’re going to pay for it between using the budget and capital is [CFO Amy Spera’s] forte, and we’re doing a great job.”
