LAKE COMO — The borough council unanimously approved a resolution to appoint a new temporary chief financial officer [CFO] during their meeting Tuesday night.
Lake Como resident Samantha Waters has been hired as temporary acting municipal CFO for the term of one year, commencing on Oct. 16 and ending on Oct. 15, 2024.
“She has taken all the classes and she plans on taking the final exam in December,” said Council President Douglas Witte, who offered the resolution.
Mayor Kevin Higgins congratulated Ms. Waters on the new position after the vote was cast. “Let me be the first to welcome you to Lake Como,” he said. “You have some big shoes to fill but I have no doubt that you will be great at your job.”
Ms. Waters told The Coast Star after the meeting that she is excited for the opportunity with the borough.
Additionally, a resolution to authorize a request for architectural service proposals for a new borough hall was also approved by the council.
