BRIELLE — The Brielle Planning and Zoning Board Tuesday approved Brielle Integrated Healthcare Management’s application to expand its medical facilities into vacant retail space next door.
The health care center provides services including physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture and massage therapy. It shares the Brielle Sports Club building at 629 Higgins Avenue with the space formerly occupied by JR’s BevCo. liquor store.
The proposed use variance would allow the facility to expand into the former liquor store space and add medical services such as podiatry and a primary care physician.
The applicant and building tenant from Brielle Integrated Healthcare, Joseph Saponaro, was represented by attorney Keith Henderson.
Joseph Kociuba from KBA Engineering Services LLC in Wall Township is the engineer and planner for the proposal.
“This is approval for expansion to the other side of the facility to start medical services,” said Mr. Saponaro. “One half of it is the conservative side of the business, that we’ve already been there since 2017, the right side of the facility is where we’re expanding medical services.”
