BAY HEAD — The monthly Sunset Paddle will cast off of the shores of Twilight Lake this Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
This event has taken place the first Sunday of every month all summer, inviting all residents to join Mayor William Curtis on Twilight Lake, or along the shoreline, to view the sunset.
This event is a part of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, which is a part of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute. The Campaign is a statewide program to promote health and wellness throughout the state, according to Meryl Clement, co-chair of Bay Head Life Mayor’s Wellness Committee. Bay Head has been designated a “healthy town” by the institute, which is the highest honor they can bestow upon a town.
“We encourage everyone to come and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of magnificent sunsets over Twilight Lake,” said Ms. Clement.
Residents of the Bay gather in and around the lake bringing their canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, beach chairs and beach towels to simply take in the peace and serenity of a sunset at the Jersey shore.
“It is just another remarkable event in town enjoying the beauty of where we live,” said Ms. Clement.
