BRICK TOWNSHIP — The first shovel has broken ground on Cedar Bridge Manor Park as Mayor Lisa Crate and Council President Heather deJong joined residents of Cedar Bridge Manor last week for a groundbreaking ceremony.
The park will offer Cedar Bridge Manor amenities such as shoreline restoration, a half basketball court, an ADA-compliant playground with age appropriate equipment, fitness components, a walking trail with picnic tables and benches.
“We were very excited to finally have the groundbreaking for Cedar Bridge Manor Park last week. The neighborhood has been waiting for years for improvements to be made to that park, and after dealing with several issues that held up the start of construction, it was great to have residents of the neighborhood come out to break ground with us and celebrate the upcoming renovation,” said Mayor Crate.
Mayor Crate said that barring any unforeseen issues, the township is hoping to have an official ribbon cutting by the end of the summer, giving kids and families in the neighborhood ample time to enjoy the park before the weather turns cold for the season.
The mayor said, “One of the things that makes Brick so special is the fact that we have worked diligently over the past 10 years to refurbish all of our neighborhood parks. Giving families the ability to walk down the street to play in a park that is unique to their development is something we are incredibly proud of and our goal is to remain committed to restoring and preserving all of our neighborhood parks for generations to come.”
