POINT PLEASANT — The Point Pleasant Borough Board of Education recognized many students and staff at the May 22 meeting.
Superintendent Adam Angelozzi honored board member Joan Speroni for her recognition by the Ocean County School Boards Association for 20 years of service to the Point Pleasant Borough Board of Education and for her Certified Board Leader [CBL] Certification, the Board Member Academy’s highest level of individual certification.
To be awarded the CBL, members must earn a total of 60 credits, and serve in a leadership role at the local, county or state level. Superintendent Angelozzi said, “Mrs. Speroni plays an essential role in contributing to the success of Point Pleasant Schools, and she is truly an exemplary leader for the district.”
Unsung Hero Award
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Unsung Hero Award honors high school students in Ocean County who have overcome adversity. Among the honorees were three Point Pleasant Borough High School students, two of whom were nominated through their Ocean County Vocational School program.
Nominated through Vocational School were Matthew Caccavano and John Fitzpatrick.
Nominated through Point Pleasant Borough High School was Kagni Hostinsky.
