POINT PLEASANT — Judith Sherwood will be holding a booking signing for her book “The Paralyzing Truth: Finding Strength and Hope in the Midst of Tragedy and Grief” on Saturday, May 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Point Boro First Aid Squad, located on 1200 Beaver Dam Rd.
Ms. Sherwood, a Point Pleasant Borough resident, wrote this as a memoir to her late mother, whom she spent the last 12 years taking care for when she became paralyzed in 2009. Her mother, Olga Kleinertz, died last year.
“She was a pillar of strength and was amazing,” said Ms. Sherwood.
“I wrote a memoir. I didn’t plan on it, but it was on behalf of my mom and what happened to her. I wanted to share her story and share a little bit about our faith in how we got through it all.”
In her grief, Ms. Sherwood said she just began to write things down about her mother, and it eventually turned into the 74-page memoir that she published. Her mother had gained a following on Facebook and online from the community, as she posted ‘thank you’ videos almost everyday to those who sent her meals, cards and prayers.
