MANASQUAN —To celebrate the start of the baseball and softball Little League Seasons, the Manasquan-Brielle Little League [MBLL] parade was held on Main Street on Saturday, April 22
The parade kicked off at 10 a.m. at Manasquan High School. Coaches, children and parents assembled with their teams on the lawn near the tennis courts starting at 9:30 a.m. The parade followed the same routes used during football parades in the fall. The route began on Broad Street and followed to Main Street, onto Parker Avenue and then Woodland Avenue back to the high school.
Parade organizer David Pettit said there were roughly 43 teams marching in the parade, resulting in a couple hundred people marching in the parade.
While exact numbers are not available, Mr. Pettit said “it was one of the biggest parades I’ve seen in 24 years of involvement with MBLL.”
