BAY HEAD — As part of the Bay Head Mayor’s annual Wellness Campaign, the Bay Head Life Organization has created a new event this spring, a Health and Wellness Fair, taking place on May 7.
“A lot of people had talked about this for a Bay Head Business event,” said Allison Feehan, member of Bay Head Life. “We just started throwing some ideas together and we really wanted to offer holistic care and we wanted the businesses in Bay Head to shine.”
Bay Head Life started many years ago as Go Bay Head, and has since transformed into an organization focused on bettering the quality of life and wellness in the borough.
To reach this goal, the organization helps to put on multiple events throughout the year, with the events of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign being their largest. According to Ms. Feehan, the group also tries to offer at least one new event every year, with this year’s being the wellness fair.
The wellness fair will be a free event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Centennial Park and will welcome vendors and speakers as well as hosting massages and hearing screenings. While the event is mostly free, there will be donation-based payments for attendees wishing to participate in certain fitness classes and the Baby Goat Experience.
“We got lucky enough to have Angels in the Pine Farm come and bring baby goats,” said Ms. Feehan. “We are looking at that as animals give you an exchange of energy and can be very therapeutic.”
