BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Brick Township PBA Local 230 will hold its 33rd annual Helping Hands benefit basketball game at Lake Riviera Middle School starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27.
Members of PBA Local 230 will take on the Brick Township High School Green Dragons football team in a game of basketball to raise funds for the families of Billy Paterno and John Lynch.
Billy is a two-year old who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Mr. Lynch is a teacher at Brick Township High School who recently suffered from a stroke.
The funds raised by the game will go to Billy and Mr. Lynch’s families to help deal with the financial hardships caused by their health conditions.
Officer Joe De Luca, who is running the event, told The Ocean Star, “When I got hired in 2016, I had seen the event and the impact that had on local families. So as a result of that, I wanted to take part in that event.”
