BRICK TOWNSHIP — Brick Township has received a matching grant of $2,948 from the Ocean County Tourism Business Advisory Council, for the Brick Farmers Market.
Brick Township is one of 24 recipients of the grants awarded by the advisory council.
Mayor Lisa Crate said, “The township received a grant from the Ocean County Tourism Commission to assist us with advertising for the Brick Farmers Market. We have one of the best Farmers Markets in all of Ocean County and we are excited to get the word out to the citizens of not only Brick but surrounding towns so they can visit the market throughout the season.”
Mayor Crate said that part of the funding will also be spent on the seasonal fruit and vegetable availability fliers that visitors receive during the first weeks of the market.
“This season we are working to maintain our pledge of sustainability by creating a space for residents to bring their leftover reusable shopping bags [because we all have so many now] to become a ‘leave a bag/take a bag’ area for visitors who may need a bag when they come to shop,” said Mayor Crate.
