BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Brick Township Council introduced an ordinance at the April 11 meeting to allow dogs at the Brick Farmer’s Market, which will begin on May 6.
“This allows dog owners to bring their canine companions with them to the farmers market,” Council Vice President Andrea Zapcic said.
According to Ms. Zapcic, dogs are allowed in township parks as long as they are leashed and that their owners clean up after them.
“However, the bandshell section of Windward Beach is considered a beach area where dogs are not allowed. Over the years, responsible dog owners have expressed dismay of not being allowed to bring their dogs to the market and our staff requested the committee consider this exception,” said Ms. Zapcic.
According to the township council, the resolution was reviewed and approved by Brick Township’s recreation department.
