BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Brick Township Council approved two grant agreements with the state Department of Environmental Protection at the Tuesday, Feb. 14 meeting.
The grants, $8,000 each and totaling $16,000, are a part of the DEP’s “It Pay$ to Plug In: New Jersey’s Electric Vehicle Charging Grant Program.”
Councilman Derrick T. Ambrosino said on the first of the two resolutions approved, “This will provide electric vehicles charging stations at Windward Beach.”
Windward Beach, located at 265 Princeton Ave., has amenities such as a playground, a tot area, volleyball nets, picnic tables, gazebo, fishing and crabbing piers, bocce courts and horseshoe pits. Swimming is not permitted at Windward Beach.
“This resolution will provide the installation of an electric-vehicle charging station at the Drum Point Sports Complex and the Municipal Building,” said Council President Heather deJong.
The Drum Point Sports Complex is located on Brick Boulevard and the Brick Township Municipal Building at 401 Chambers Bridge Road.
